Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions from parents about admission.
What is the minimum age for admission?
Children must be at least five years old to join the Pre-Hifz programme, and at least seven years old to join the Hifz programme. Applications outside these age ranges may be considered on a case-by-case basis after a special assessment.
How does general education fit alongside Hifz?
Markaz's integrated curriculum runs both tracks in parallel. Dedicated morning and afternoon slots are reserved for Hifz, while the remaining hours cover Bengali, English, Mathematics and other core subjects. This ensures students progress in both Islamic and general education simultaneously.
What are the monthly fees?
Full fee details are listed in the fee table above; amounts vary by programme track, and boarding students pay an additional meals charge. For the latest figures please call the Accounts office directly.
What does the admission assessment cover?
The assessment checks the applicant's Quran recitation level, prior academic background and general comprehension. A short interview with the parent or guardian is also held to discuss family expectations and the child's readiness.
Is boarding available?
Boarding is available in the Hifz programme; students may live on campus under full-time supervision. The Pre-Hifz and general divisions are primarily day-care based, though applications for boarding can be made in exceptional circumstances.
Can students from English-medium schools adjust?
Markaz provides dedicated bridging support for students from English-medium backgrounds, with a gradual approach to building proficiency in Bengali and Arabic. Experienced teachers give individualised attention to help each student settle comfortably into the new environment.
What parents say
From the Markaz family
Alhamdulillah, alongside hifz we have seen real progress in our son's academics and adab — we could not be more satisfied.
The teachers' sincerity and the individual attention every student receives set Markaz apart.
Our daughter now reads the Quran with understanding while staying ahead in her class subjects — exactly the balance we were looking for.
